How to Get Organized for the Fall
Fall is here and because we do live in Florida, you never know how long it is actually going to stay cool outside. But, no matter if it is cool or not here in Florida, families typically come down here to visit and take a break from their colder weather and that means you will need to get your home ready for the constant company you will have throughout the season and you will probably want to pull out your hair. Don’t worry though, we are here to help you tackle the mission on preparing your house to be as clutter—free as possible.
Starting off with your wardrobe, get rid of the things you do not wear. There is no point of things taking up space in your closet that you will never touch. You can instead bring them to a charity if you want want to help those in need or you can bring them to a Plato’s closet or Labels to make some cash back on things you don’t wear. Besides it is fall now, not summer, so it is the perfect time to make that change or you can put the summer time clothes away to save some space for the in-season wardrobe. When we say put them away for the season, what we mean is that you put the out of season clothing in labeled bins until that season is back and that gives plenty of room for the sweaters, cardigans, pullovers, etc. If it is a heavy coat, it is encouraged to get something like a coat rack or put them on a hook on a wall to save space in that closet.
Like I mentioned before, this is the time of the year where families come down to Florida to visit their families or get a break from the cold. When your family visits, there might be a strong possibility that they will stay with you, especially if you are the only ones in Florida. That means your guest room that you most likely hold overflow storage supplies, will most likely have to be decluttered and the supplies will have to fins a new place to stay. This can be a hefty project depending on how much clutter is in that room, so it is suggested to start this as soon as possible so you do not have to stress about it right when the holidays are about to hit. So go ahead and clear out the guest rooms so you can do small touch ups when the time comes, like putting out fresh linens and making sure they have things they will need during the stay.
