You could be at a point in life where you have been contemplating selling your home or buying a new home. In this blog, we will outline five reasons why fall might be the best time for you to make the move.
After September, things start to cool down across the United States. Some regions experience more extreme versions of cooling down, but the weather becomes enjoyable and pleasant in Florida. With moving being an intensive project on both sides of the real estate transaction, buying or selling, this allows sellers to prepare their homes and pack when it isn’t so hot and also allows buyers to search for homes and pack in good weather.
There are a couple of months in the fall that are considered off-season here in Florida. This provides the opportunity to go and explore various areas and experience different activities without as many out-of-state visitors. Some things that can be enjoyed in our area in the fall are festivals, small downtown areas, farmer’s markets, beaches, and manatee season which begins in November.
When it comes to the moving process there are a lot of moving pieces such as inspections, appraisals, surveys, and even getting new driver’s licenses! All of these require appointments which can become easier to coordinate after the hustle and bustle of the summer moving season.
If you are moving in or out of the state, or even a decent distance away, a moving company may be necessary to complete the process of selling or buying a home. Moving companies are often booked-out during the summer months leading up to the beginning of school and also near the holidays as people want to get into their homes as quickly as possible. The first months after summer and the first days of school are the best times to schedule movers as this tends to be their off-season.
For most people, it is important to spend the holidays with their loved ones or even create a cozy, festive environment in their homes. This can be incredibly difficult if you are in the process of moving, everything is in boxes, or you are running around doing errands instead of spending time at home. If you are able to complete the selling or buying process in the first couple of months of fall it creates a greater likelihood that you will have the time and energy to enjoy the holiday season. Not only that, but you can avoid any unwanted winter weather if you are moving from out-of-state.
